Purchase Process

Below is detailed information about the process for purchasing a sugar glider joey or adult pair. Please read all of the information in its entirety before reaching out or submitting an application. All of the information below is relevant to the process and
will answer most all questions our customers have selecting their joey.

Step 1 - Read and research

Sugar gliders are NOT for everyone. Before completing an application, take the time to complete your research and make sure that you’re up for their quirks and husbandry requirements.

Vet care - Determine what veterinary care is available in your area. For those in Georgia, we have a list of known providers that we can provide. For those outside of Georgia, Sugar Glider Guardians maintains a list of practices across the US.

Step 2 - Complete application

A completed application is required for all sugar glider purchases. Before you complete the application, please make sure that you are ready to move forward. If you’re not sure which sugar glider is the right fit, no problem, we can help you decide. Make sure to respond completely. The application is our first step in determining if the process should move forward. Submitting the application does not serve as a contract to purchase the glider.

Step 3: Connect about details

Once you submit the application, a member of our team will be in touch via email to discuss the application and answer any further questions you may have. Our first communication will be via email and/or text, voice calls will be scheduled in advance. During this time, we will cover key topics:

Best gliders for your family or program
Habitat set up and glider safe products (pictures of set up or items ordered)
Transportation and/or meet up (more on that below)
General husbandry

Step 4 - Deposit and balance

A non-refundable, $100 deposit is required to reserve your glider. For your peace of mind, deposits are collected via our Wix payment platform by major credit card. The deposit will be applied towards the total agreed price. You should NOT pay the deposit if you are on the fence about owning a sugar glider. The deposit is non-refundable as a result of transport issues or lack of transport.

Why do we require a deposit? When we reserve a glider for a family, we do not accept further inquiries for that particular glider. This means we do not have a back-up home in place in the event you change your mind. As older joeys take longer to place, we incur additional costs when an arrangement is canceled.

Balance is due:

24 hours prior to neuter appointment
24 hours prior to transport pick-up
At pick-up if no neuter or transport required

Final payment and delivery arrangements must be made within 7 days days of the ready-to-go date.

Step 5 - Delivery arrangements

For Georgia customers, we will coordinate with you for the best day and time to meet. Balance is due in person, cash or credit card only.

We provide the following items for a stress-free pick up:

Bonding bag or sleep pouch with small travel cage
Sleeping pouch
Fruit for hydration if traveling longer distance

For customers outside of Georgia, we will help coordinate with licensed transport companies that can get your sugar glider home. A waiver is required for all gliders traveling via transport services. Click here to view transportation information including costs and services.

While you wait

While you’re waiting for your joey’s ready to go date, we will send you a weekly video of your joey(s). We cannot accommodate requests for daily photos and videos; however, we will send bonus videos when time permits.
We are available to answer questions as your habitat set-up comes in or as you’re shopping for sugar glider goodies.
If an unforeseen circumstance arises that prevents you from picking up your joeys, let us know as soon as possible.
